Internal Reflection is a hand blown glass sculpture representing a very specific time in Jasmine’s life. In 2021, she was severely burned in the glass studio. Jasmine landed in the hospital receiving multiple skin grafts and isolated for many months of healing.
Fast forward six months, she turned back to glass blowing… she truly couldn’t imagine a life without it. When she set forth post accident, Jasmine never thought about making work representing said accident. Five years later, putting the finishing touches on this piece, she stepped back and realized, this was it. It was her, carved and scarred by fire, a duo of life and death. Every mark was meticulously ground and became a means of catharsis.
